Presented by the United Way and Visiting Nurse Association, as part of our PA Forward Health Literacy initiative.

Thursday, August 21 at 6:30 pm in the 2nd Floor Community Room Summer Evening Movie is:  Gravity.  In a heart-pounding deep space thriller, Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky confront disaster.  Starring: Sandra Bullock, Ed Harris and George Clooney.  91 minutes.

Movie is held in the Community room on the 2nd floor and is Free and Open to the Public,

July Programs:

 MillerASRPLocal Author Publishes Controversial Novel at Age 90 – July 10

Bernard Miller will speak at the Library about his novel Withheld: A Dead Sea Scroll Mystery on Thursday, July 10 at 7:00 pm in the 1st Floor Multipurpose room.

Learn critical First Century secrets from the author of this fact-based fiction.  Deemed “too controversial” for traditional publishers, Mr. Miller published the novel locally at age 90!  Excerpts are at www.deadseascrollmyster.com.

Mr. Miller’s talk is the second program for the Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program, “Literary Elements.”  Along with these programs, adults are encouraged to sign up for the reading program.  Simply register, read, review and be entered to win a gift basket or Keurig K-Cup machine at the August 6 drawing.  Each book review completed is an entry into the raffle.  Learn more about this and other Summer Reading Programs.

Summer Movie Night and Friday Movies – July 17

Join other movie lovers on Thursday, July 17 at 6:30 pm in the 2nd Floor Community Room for an encore screening of Captain Phillips staring Tom Hanks.

Women in Science – July 22
