Friends This Fall

Mark you calendar!  The Friends of the Huntingdon Vally Library are sponsoring several wonderful programs, a trip and program/meetings this fall.

Special Activities:

  • Sept. 6 at 12:30 – “Meet & Greet” with Mrs. Sharon Moreland-Sender & meeting
  • Oct.1, 15, 29 at 7 pm – First Part of a 3-Part Lecture Series “The Artistic Heritage of Philadelphia: Architecture, Museums and Great Art Collections” by Betsy Anderson.  Tonight The Renaissance Basis of 18th Century Philadelphia.
  • Oct. 4 at 12:30 -“Everything e-books” demonstration by HV Library Director & meeting
  • Oct. 9-13– USED-BOOK SALE
    • check library for hours
  • Oct. 15 at 7 pm The Second Part of a 3-Part Lecture Series “Artistic Heritage of Philadelphia: Architecture, Museums and Great Art Collections” by Betsy Anderson.  Tonight Creating a World Class Museum: The Origins of Philadelphia Museum of Art and it’s Collections. The Renaissance Basis of 18th Century Philadelphia.
  • Oct. 21 at 2 pm – “Voices of the Valley”-recollections of life in Lower Moreland and Bryn Athyn in the 20th Century. (Community Room)
  • Oct. 29 at 7 pm The Final Part of the 3-Part Lecture Series “Artistic Heritage of Philadelphia: Architecture, Museums and Great Art Collections” by Betsy Anderson.  Tonight is Alberts Barnes and the Creation of a Great Collection.
  • Nov. 3; 8 am-8 pm –  BUS TRIP TO WASHINGTON, DC – Trip Informational Flyer
  • Nov. 6; 7 am-7 pm – Election Day Bake Sale at Pine Rd School
  • Dec. 15, 20, 21, 22 – Holiday Gift Wrap at Barnes & Noble, Jenkintown

Weekly Activities:

  • MONDAYS 11:30-3:30 – Mah Jongg play $2.00 pp; lessons $5.00 pp per lesson
  • TUESDAYS 12:30-3:30– Canasta play $2.00 pp; lessons $5.00 pp per lesson
    • (Call Library for lesson start dates throughout the year)
