Next Monday, January 23 at 10:30, a very special story time will be held here in the library. This story time will be presented with sign language. This is a wonderful opportunity to expose your children to a language system they may not have seen or experienced before. Seeing stories presented through signing opens up the storytime experience in a very special way. Young children are always learning, and exposure to things that are new are so beneficial to young minds.
Perhaps you have a young one that already has experience with signing. Some children learn signing at a young age because they or another member of their family have hearing difficulties. Some families with children on the autism spectrum find that signing is a useful method of communication. Whatever the reason, making sign language more widely known across the community benefits all our young children. We hope you can join us for this wonderful program!
