2012 has begun!

A new year has begun at the Huntingdon Valley Library, and we hope you’ll consider starting off 2012 by paying us a visit. With a new year comes new developments in the world of library services, and we hope you will enjoy what lies ahead for the Huntingdon Valley Library.
As technology continues to advance, we in the library are doing all that we can to keep up with what is out there as best we can. Our website now features links to the HVL online blog that you have found your way to if you’re reading this, as well as our Facebook page and Twitter feed. These new communication tools can provide you with up to the minute information of what is happening here in our library. Make sure to follow us, and send messages and feedback on what you like here in the library, as well as what you don’t like.
In the coming months, those of you that use the library’s computers may notice some changes as well. We will be installing software that will require you to make a computer reservation in order to log on. Make sure you have your library card handy to make logging into the computer as easy as possible! If you misplace your card temporarily, we can still look you up in order to help you log in to HVL’s computers.
For those of you who have used the Overdrive collection, eBooks and digital audiobooks available to Montgomery County library card holders, you might be excited to hear that soon there will be a small collection of popular titles available strictly to residents of Huntingdon Valley. We hope that this will eliminate long wait periods our patrons will have to endure in order to access popular digital titles.
Huntingdon Valley Library is excited to welcome the New Year, and we hope to see all of you in the library! If you haven’t been here in a while, we would love to welcome you back, and if we see you on a regular basis, we appreciate your love of the library and hope to serve you even better this year!
